On the other side

You are a garbage collector, new to this job, an employee of a private company who always puts more and more pressure on you in his endless quest for profitability, in a repetitive activity that eventually loses all meaning as the stress intensifies, until exhaustion. 

Then, you wake up on another world whithout stress, rentability values, risk of being fired, where you can see first-hand the benefits of your work! On the other side where capitalism does not seem to exist.

This game was made during the game jam Fuck Capitalism Jam 2023

How to play

In the other side is a rhythm game divided into two different version, based on the same mechanics :

The "Capitalist" version

Press Space when a trash can arrives next to the truck, that will start a pattern in order to empty the trash.

Use Arrow keys or WASD and E to execute the pattern in rhythm.

You must maintain a rentability gauge above a threshold each night or you are fired!

The Other version

Use Arrow keys or WASD to move in rhythm within the city.

Press Space to start a pattern when you are near a trash can in order to empty the trash.

Execute parttern with Arrow keys or WASD and E.

Your objective is to fill a city satisfaction gauge which fills up when there is little trash left.
You win when the satisfaction gauge reaches 100%.
